Sixty seconds, rapid-fire questions, first answer that comes to mind. Dallas Crick of Hilbert & Crick Real Estate Group asks; Mike Lloyd of The HomeHappy Team answers. It’s part of a quarterly series the two teams record together, and Dallas takes his own turn in the hot seat.
The longer version of the Ottawa story is in what Mike told the House of Commons about Canada’s mortgage rules, and more about Mike is on his about page.

Dallas: All right, Mike, answer this in 60 seconds. Kelowna market in one word?
Mike: Down.
Dallas: Most underrated neighbourhood?
Mike: Glenmore.

Mike: Just listening to them.
Dallas: Condo or house for first-time buyers?
Mike: Condo, but yeah, it’d be nice if you could get the house.
Dallas: Question clients ask the most?
Mike: What’s the best rate?
Dallas: Coffee order?
Mike: Latte.
Dallas: First job you ever had?
Mike: Cleaning windows at Singer Sewing Centre.
Dallas: Early bird or night owl?
Mike: Early bird.
Dallas: Last thing you Googled?
Mike: How to record this?
Dallas: Totally.
Dallas: Best restaurant nobody talks about?
Mike: That’s hard. Cherry Pit in West Kelowna.

Mike: No, all I can think about is your dancing. I don’t know.
Dallas: Pineapple on pizza?
Mike: Pineapple for sure.
Dallas: Absolutely.
Dallas: Something you’re terrible at?
Mike: Oh, there’s lots of things. Being warm and fuzzy.
Dallas: Fair enough.

Mike: Probably Quails’ Gate.
Dallas: 1988 or now, which was harder?
Mike: Now.
Dallas: Highest mortgage rate you’ve ever seen a client pay?
Mike: I paid 13 and three quarters.
Dallas: Where did the name HomeHappy come from?
Mike: We wanted something you could spell. My old website used to have my last name in it, and nobody could spell it, so…
Dallas: That’s a great question. Testifying in Ottawa, were you nervous, yes or no?
Mike: Yes.
